Hot Tub Tips for High Wind Events

Severe winter weather on the horizon? Don't panic. Avoid some common hot tub mistakes by following these easy steps:
  1. Make sure all of your cover clips are clipped down securely and in the locked position. If you don't have the key for the lock a small flat head screw drive will do the trick.
  2. Place a tarp over the spa weighting it down with something heavy such as an exercise weight or a sandbag. If you don't have a tarp, still try to place a heavy weighted item on the cover to keep it down.
  3. Check on your spa regularly to make sure the cover is still in place.
  4. Should damage occur to you cover or cover lifter call Mainely Tubs Service at 207-883-6357 option 2 for tips to repair.
  5. If you live in a high wind area, you may want to consider adding additional strapping to the tub to help secure the cover and reduce damage risks. Hurricane straps are available at Mainely Tubs.
